The purpose of the project is to complement the development in the area through adding more housing to a rather unused central neighbourhood as well as ensure shopping and center activities towards the prioritized central strip.
The planned area is located in the area of Kongahälla and includes some of the properties in Gärdet 1:20 and Karolinen 1. Today, the area is field parking. The thought is to be able to build housing on parts of the current parking space.
The area includes approximately one hectare in the Central Kungälv and must contain up to about 150 apartments. The planning proposal implies a certain change for the traffic and parking in the area.
Around the area, currently, there are commercial activities, a square and a number of apartment buildings under construction. The nearby area consists of housing, shopping centers, grocery stores, businesses, schools and kindergartens.
It is thought out to be an urban development with well-balanced proportions connecting the buildings in the area of Kongahälla with the older buildings east of the area.
The project is expected to begin in Q4 2025, but as of right not it has no end date.
