FSB has signed a declaration of intent to construct 200 housings in Carlsberg Byen as well as a number of shared facilities in connection with these.
The construction will be a project of around 12 750 square metres. Besides 110 student housing and 90 family- and senior housing, the construction should contain a number of shared facilities.
The basic idea behind the construction is to create a framework for community. The community in the city is important to meet the need for networking. Therefore, the project is also thought out in such a way that it should prevent loneliness among generations.
The construction will be covered in brick. Among other things, the project will contain activity rooms, shared kitchen inside and outside, workshop, guest housing, courtyard, and local recycling station. All shared facilities are gathered at the ground floor with the 4 housing types above in each their corner of the 4-6 storeys tall building. A number of shared kitchens is also connected to all the housing types.
The Technology and Environment Committee in Copenhagen Municipality has approved that The Technology and Environment Administration begins the work for ordinary housing, that in the current local plan is laid out for a local recycling station in Carlsberg Byen.
This project will also be the last in the construction of Carlsberg Byen and is, thereby, putting a fine end to the area.
The construction start is expected to be in Q1 2025 and the housing should be ready for people moving in, in Q1 2027.
