The purpose of this project is to make the central part of Alby to a more welcoming area for residents, visitors, and businesses. It should strengthen the public space of Alby and give life and movement to the plot.
The project includes the construction of about 100 new apartments. The residential block will consist of five different buildings.
The plan is to build a high-rise building on approximately 11 floors which should be a marking of the Central Alby. The rest of the buildings are planned to be 3 to 6 floors and in the middle of this neighbourhood, there will be a residential yard.
The pedestrian and cycle path that is currently going diagonally across the grass is planned to be moved south and follow along the new neighbourhood instead.
The buildings will get exteriors in prefabricated concrete.
The builder of the neighbourhood is the municipal real estate company Botkyrkabyggen. The project is estimated to begin during Q3 2025 and with an end date in Q3 2027.
